Nwando Phina Okpalaeke, a female pilot who happened to be among the first pilots to land a plane at the new Anambra International Airport has garnered full praises from Nigerians.
On Friday, April 30, the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport in Umueri community, Anambra East local government area was inaugurated by the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano during with magnificent display.
During the test run, Phina who happens to be a resident of Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State was said to have landed an aircraft at the newly inaugurated airport.
What we have gathered so far about the viral female pilot is that she is a Computer Science graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana. She later trained at an air school in South Africa where she was certified to fly commercial airplanes.
Nwando’s younger sister called Sonia Uzama took to microblogging platform to disclose the news and also expressed how she is of her. Sharing a photo of older sister, @SoniaUzama wrote;
So my older sister is one of the first set of pilots to fly to the anambra airport and the first female. Proud sister moment
In reaction, other Twitter users joined her to sing more praises of her older sister and also congratulate her on her big feat.
