Operatives of the South African police command have nabbed six people over alleged thievery.
These unscrupulous personalities were arrested after they were found to be involved in the stealing of some cellphone batteries.

Shortly after 22:40 on Wednesday, 28 April 2021, police officials from Moorreesburg were contacted by a complainant who is a member of the local farm watch that an alarm had gone off at Neulfontein Farm Moorreesburg area. The complainant indicated that he noticed on the CCTV footage that suspects were busy stealing cellphone tower batteries.
The police officials and the farm watch members went to the N7 and were kept abreast of the suspects’ whereabouts by another farm watch member.
The suspects moved over the N7 route where a vehicle stopped and the suspects climbed into the vehicle and moved towards the R311 road in the direction of Riebeeck West.
Their vehicle was stopped and searched and members found five red Vodacom tower batteries to the value of approximately R125 000 each. Further searches of the area led to the police finding a hammer, bolt cutter and a crowbar at the tower.
Six suspects aged between 28 and 37 were arrested for tampering with, damaging- and/or destroying essential Infrastructure.
They are due to appear at the Moorreesburg Magistrate Court on Monday 03 May 2021 on the mentioned charges.”
