Durban based musician Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo have been in the news for over a week now after their traditional wedding but not all were good press. The Durban muso has been a thief by former Ukhozi FM radio presenter Ngizwe Mchunu.
The radio personality claims that the newlywed, Shimora stole a valuable item of his which he wore during his traditional wedding ceremony.
According to the Daily Suns, Ngizwe made a video which has since gone viral claiming that Mampintsha wore his bheshu during his wedding ceremony with wife Babes Wodumo. The traditional garment is worn by men during ceremonies such as these.
In the funny video, Ngizwe calls Shimora a dog for not returning his valuable item. He says he was just helping out these two lovebirds as they set to wed but now Mampintsha has done him dirty. “I want my bheshu Mampintsha, I am deeply hurt. After getting married he ran away with it,” claiming that it is lost.
Responding to these slight digs, Shimora took to Facebook and denied stealing Ngizwe’s bheshu. “They said I did what? You must be mistaken because I have my own bheshu which I bought.”
Meanwhile, Mampintsha is also in the news after he threw his own mother under the bus following her harsh words directed at his wife and her family.
Yesterday, he posted a photo showing himself and his new wife sitting in what looked like a restaurant.
He then captioned it: “No maka Spontshi” loosely translated, with Sponge’s mother.
People loved what Mampintsha did, saying they respect him for not letting his mother get in the way of his happiness.
“Love how you always manage to turn negative things into things that work for you,” said Nondumiso Mabasa on Facebook.
“I love how you’re making a joke of that situation. You’re making lemonade out of lemons,” said Anele Njapa.
“We are now waiting for a song that says ‘there’s a sponge in this tummy’,” wrote Minenhle Mhlongo.
