One person has been confirmed dead as the police nullified a threat at a local supermarket.
This was contained in a statement by the South African police and according to the report, the incident happened at a local supermarket in Matsulu near Malelane.
Also, the police is also are looking for suspects who were part of the robbery. The statement from the police reads;

NELSPRUIT – Police in Mpumalanga are looking for suspects who committed a business burglary at a local supermarket in Matsulu near Malelane, one suspect was reportedly killed during a shootout between the suspects and police officers who responded.
According to the report, police were busy patrolling at Matsulu area around in the early hours yesterday morning, when they were alerted about a burglary that was occurring nearby. They (police) then went to the said place and upon arrival, were confronted by heavily armed suspects who fired shots after noticing them.
The officers then retaliated and fatally shot one of the suspects while the others managed to flee. Police further recovered two firearms as well as explosives and other equipment which police believe were possibly intended to be used to commit crime.
A business burglary case was opened and the shooting incident is being probed by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
Police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects to call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.”
