A man identified as Kingsley Ifeanyi has renounced his position as the firstborn in his family.
Obviously overwhelmed by the enormity that comes with being the firstborn in a family in Africa, the young man said his position as the first son is a liability and has retarded his progress in life as everyone in the family depends on him.
He consequently wrote a letter and addressed to his folks that read;
ONUKWUBIRI IFEANYI KINGSLEY (SOJAREXTMT) 7 May, 2021 Chief Rex Onukwubiri Umuahia Abia State.
RENUNCIATION OF FIRST SON POSITION
I think it will be time-saving if I avoid the usual preliminary pleasantries and jump straight into the purpose of this letter and I hope you will be kind enough to accord this letter a dispassionate assessment.
After years of deep reflection, I have come to the conclusion that the position of the first son increases my family problems. The position is a total liability to me, a setback and a thorn in my flesh, hence I am writing to formally inform you that I have renounced my position a: your first son in the family and I am willing to allow my immediate younger brother, Ikenno 1o take over the position if he so desires.
By this letter, I am also relinquishing all my entitlements and heritage as your first son to lkenna and Victor and they are free to treat all these entitlements as they wish. will therefore plead that going forward I should no longer be addressed as the first son of your family; I am willing to become the lost born, if possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Your son, Ifeanyi Onukwubiri
