The Police at Kibi have arrested two suspected who allegedly attacked some tomato traders on the Bunso-Osiem highway in the Eastern Region.

According to reports, one of the traders was shot dead in the course of the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the late hours of yesterday, Sunday 6th June 2021 at Bunso Site 2.
The tomato vendors were traveling from Akyem Begoro to Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region in a KIA Rhino Truck with registration number GC 328-11.
Haruna Amadu, 25, and Joseph Nhyira, 25, are accused of attacking and robbing five female vendors at gunpoint of their money and belongings.
In the course of the robbery, one of them shot one of the traders named Victoria in the head, killing her instantly.
After the operation, the suspects ran into the bush, but when the police learned of the robbery, they tracked them down in the bush and apprehended them with the help of community members.
Two unregistered single-barrel shotguns, a machete, backpacks, voter ID cards, and numerous mobile sim cards, some of which belonged to the victims, were among the items allegedly collected from the suspects.
The suspect will be arraigned before court for prosecution while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
