President Buhari approved the appointment of two new assistants to his wife and First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
Dr. Rukayyatu Abdulkareem Gurin and Dr. Mohammed Kamal Abdurrahman are two newly elected representatives. Gurin has been appointed to the office of Senior Special Assistant to the President for Administration and Women, and Abdurrahman has been appointed to the office of First Lady as the Chairperson for Health and Development Partners.
Gurin has a Doctorate in Curricula Instruction at Maiduguri University and was lecturer at the University of Maiduguri at several times and has served as Deputy Director of the Commission of National Universities and as Director of the Kuru National Institute of Political and Strategic Studies.
Dr. Hajo Sani, who had recently been appointed as a delegate to the Education and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) of the United Nations in France, is now being replaced by a senior lecturer at Baze University in Abuja before her appointment.
Similarly, Abdulrrahman has an MSc from the University of Maiduguri (Medicine and Surgery Bachelor). Prior to his appointment as First Lady Personal Physician in 2015 and 2019, he worked at the teaching hospital of Maiduguri University, Yola; the specialist hospital at Swaziland’s Sithobela Health Center; and the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
Abdulrrahman combines his new role with his position as the First Lady’s personal doctor.
Recall that Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari has announced the deactivation of her Twitter account indefinitely following the reported suspension of Twitter operations in the country.
Aisha Buhari sadly announced that she is will be deactivating her Twitter temporarily and wished Nigeria prosperity and checks done on her verified account revealed that her account has been deactivated as announced.
