Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omokri has advised the Federal government to desist the payment of ransom and negotiating with bandits.
According to him, once the bandits sense that the government meets their demands and everything they ask of them, the rate of kidnappings would soar because they know their needs would be met in the end. He called for the total rejection of the plan by bandits to have a negotiation with the government.
He took to his Twitter handle and told the government that no nation can buy peace with weakness.
His tweet read: The more Nigeria pays ransom to bandits, the more abductions will become random. When we negotiate with terrorists, they will dominate our territories. If we give killers amnesty, we must also prepare for massive calamity. No nation can buy peace with weakness! #TableShaker
