Hollywood actor, Will Smith has intimated that he is in an open relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith and they are free to have other sexual partners.
Recall that Jada Pinkett Smith once admitted that she had a romantic affair with U.S singer August Alsina.
Jada inclined that she had a spell with August Alsina about four years ago when she and Will Smith were separated. According to Jada, she did not know she was ever going to reunite with Will Smith again and the claims that Will gave her his blessing to be with August is uncalled for because she was not with him at the time.
Will has now acknowledged in a recent interview with GQ that although their marriage was first monogamous, they chose to open it up after realizing they were both “terrible” and that “obviously something had to change.”
While the focus of the discourse surrounding Alsina had been on Jada, and many people had condemned her as the disloyal one, he also admitted that he and his wife had had other sexual connections during their marriage.
He said: “Jada never believed in conventional marriage. Jada had family members that had an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up.”
“There were significant endless discussions about, what is relational perfection? What is the perfect way to interact as a couple? And for the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection.
“We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way. And marriage for us can’t be a prison.
“And I don’t suggest our road for anybody. I don’t suggest this road for anybody. But the experiences that the freedoms that we’ve given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love.”
