Vice Presidents’ Wife, Samira Bawumia reimbursed all State allowances since 2017 and denied any additional remuneration the government is planning to send to her.
Her move follows on from a similar action by Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady. After the government had disclosed intentions to begin paying them monthly fees, two presidential wives have been at the forefront of a major public uproar.
The wages were chosen by a presidential emoluments panel established by the government of Akufo-Addo.
The committee concluded that perhaps the state would begin to pay large amounts of monthly wages to the first and second women not only if the president’s income was doubled.
The Ghc forty thousand apparently the President was advised not to take care of him and his wife every month, a ridiculous rise in his present pay.

Ghanaians have been frantic and attacked the covetous politicians who are trying to put this policy into practice, together with their women.
The first lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has stated that she is unable to bear public pressure and is refunding all the benefits she has had from 2017 and is denying the additional wages she is trying to provide.
The Vice President’s Wife has now made a statement via her office.
The statement reads:
“The Second lady, H.E Samira Bawumia in consultation with H.E, the Vice President, will refund all allowances paid to her since 2017 and will not accept any monies allocated to her pursuant to the recommendations of the Prof. Yaa Ntiamoa-Baidu led committee, as approved by Parliament on 6th January 2021.”
