Argentine great Lionel Messi was sent off the first time in his Barcelona career on Sunday in the Spanish Super Cup defeat against Athletic Bilbao.
Messi’s red card was the last action of the game as Bilbao surprised Barcelona 3-2 to lift the trophy only for the third time.

Antoine Griezmann scored two goals in each half but it was not enough as Bilbao replied with two good goals to force the game into extra-time.
Inaki Williams, who has Ghanaian roots, scored the winner for Bilbao in extra-time with a brilliant curling effort.
